Today we are witnessing the renaissance of the theme of
human being. Perhaps it is possible to talk about a new anthropological turn in
philosophy and human sciences. Philosophical, social, cultural, political,
legal, medical and other anthropologies are becoming increasingly prominent.
Moreover, social progress is impossible without the adequate development of
human beings.
The understanding of humans and their qualities contributes to a success of
regional, national, and global projects and to sustainable development on
various societal levels.
In these conditions the long-term scholarly project of the Volgograd State
University Philosophy School —
the International Conference “Human Being in Contemporary
Philosophical Conceptions” —
acquires a special significance.
This conference has become a regular scientific forum attended by Russian and
international scholars.
The Conference has become a
fiesta of philosophical paradigms and a meeting space for the international
humanities scholars. According to the participants, the conference “Human Being
in Contemporary Philosophical Conceptions” has become an important event both
for Russian and international philosophy.
From now on the Conference will take place three-annually (2007, 2010, 2013...).
The 2007 Human Being
Conference is co-organized by the Volgograd State
University, "Stefan cel Mare" University, Russian Philosophical Society and
"Simeon Frank" International Society.
We
hope that you will positively respond to our call for papers and you will wish
to participate in our conference in May of 2007.
